About the Museum
John A. Logan College Museum Mission Statement
Purpose
The John A. Logan College Museum is an educational service organization that promotes understanding and appreciation of southern Illinois’ visual arts, cultural heritage, and natural history and examines the region’s relationship to contemporary issues and the world community.
Audience
The Museum serves the students of John A. Logan College and citizens of the College district as its primary audience. Its broader audience includes residents of southern Illinois and visitors to the region.
Services
The John A. Logan College Museum is committed to serving its audience by:
- creating exhibitions and programs that are educational and grounded in sound scholarship.
- maintaining collections following professional standards and making them accessible to the public.
- serving as a center for southern Illinoisans to explore their cultural heritage
Visiting the John A. Logan College Museum
Admission to the Museum is free.
Parking at the College is free. John A. Logan College is handicapped accessible.
The Museum can be visited during regular College hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The College may be open on Sundays or at other hours for special events; please call ahead at (618) 985-3741.
