Text for the Welcome Video

Welcome to the Gallaudet University Regional Center (GURC) for the Midwest. The GURC is located at John A. Logan College in southern Illinois. Our goals are to focus on educational, professional and vocational needs for deaf & hard of hearing individuals from birth, throughout their lives. We serve their families and professionals who work with them.

In the United States there are six GURCs. We help provide workshops and training opportunities from the Gallaudet Center for Continuing Studies and the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center.

The GURC for the Midwest serves thirteen states. Those are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
