Bill Burnside – Head Volleyball Coach
This fall marks Bill Burnside’s fourth season as head volleyball coach at John A. Logan College. In his three years with the Vols, Burnside has put together a 70-35 record, including two Great Rivers Athletic Conference championships and three Region 24 championships.
Burnside spent seven seasons as assistant volleyball coach for the Lady Vols before taking over the reins from Fae Ragan who resigned the head coach position after 22 years.
In addition to his coaching experience at Logan, Burnside served as head volleyball coach at Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee, for four years. He has also coached men’s club teams, worked at collegiate volleyball camps, and earned a USA Volleyball CAP Level II Coaching Certification.
A native of Lewes, Delaware, he played club volleyball at the University of Delaware for three years. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in physical education from Southern Illinois University. Along with his coaching responsibilities, he works as an academic advisor at the College.
